Academic Reporting

St Columba Anglican School uses a progressive reporting system from Kindergarten to Year 12, providing grades and feedback throughout the year. This ensures timely communication among parents, teachers, and students about individual achievements and learning progress. The system aims to reduce the gap between current performance and learning goals by offering feedback well before the end of semester.

Additionally, it includes annotated student work, assessment rubrics, and unlimited feedback comments accessible to both students and parents, making it a valuable system for students, parents and schools.

Formal Semester 1 and Semester 2 reports are still provided. Parents need to access SEQTA Engage to view both Semester and Progressive Reports.

Progressive Reports

Progressive reporting is a way for teachers to show parents and caregivers a sample of each student’s work in number, writing and reading, along with a goal for future improvement. This is designed to show progress, not attainment. Students are encouraged to reflect on their goals and work toward attaining them in the future.

Progressive Reports are released in:

  • Term 1: Weeks 5 and 10
  • Term 2:  Week 5
  • Term 3: Weeks 5 and 10
  • Term 4: Week 5

Progressive Reports can be accessed via SEQTA Engage using the Assessments tab.

Semester Reports

Semester Reports are released at the end of each semester and contain outcomes, areas of strength and target areas for improvement. Each subject has a Subject Outline, which describes what students have been learning in class. In Mathematics and English, three Areas of Strength and Target Areas are included for each student to help guide future learning.

Outcomes are marked according to a five-point common grade scale consisting of outstanding, high, grade level achieved, developing and below grade level. The first page of each report includes an explanation of these terms. Please note that within subjects, different strands may have been weighted differently and this may affect the overall achievement grade.

Semester Reports can be accessed via SEQTA Engage using the Reports tab.
