Welcome to our Uniform Guide. Here, we provide detailed information to help you understand the specific uniform requirements for our students. Wearing the school uniform with pride is an essential aspect of a student's journey here at SCAS, as it represents our values and commitment to excellence. Secondary School

Please note that the compulsory uniform for Secondary students is the navy skirt, shorts or trousers with the pinstripe school shirt (Years 7 to 10), white school shirt (Years 11 and 12) and school tie, and is required to be worn for all formal school occasions and for official school photograph days. The checked dress is an optional extra and cannot be worn to formal events.

Primary School (K-6)

Day Uniform

  • Checked dress or
  • Navy and white pinstripe shirt (tucked in)
  • Navy shorts or trousers

Accessories

  • Navy fleece v-neck windcheater (K-2) or
  • Navy knitted v-neck pullover (3-6)
  • Navy socks or navy stockings
  • Black school shoes (see Shoe Guide)
  • Navy bucket hat
  • Navy striped school tie (worn in Terms 2 and 3 only)

Please note that jumpers are considered a part of the formal uniform in Terms 2 and 3.

Junior Secondary School (7-10)

Day Uniform

  • Navy and white pinstripe short-sleeved shirt
  • Navy skirt, shorts or trousers
  • Navy tie with school logo
  • Checked dress*

Accessories

  • Navy knitted v-neck pullover
  • Navy socks or navy stockings**
  • Black school shoes (see Shoe Guide)
  • Navy school baseball cap
  • Navy school blazer (for Years 9 and 10 only, as an optional extra)

* Please note that the compulsory uniform for Secondary students is the navy skirt, shorts or trousers with the pinstripe school shirt and school tie, and is required to be worn for all formal school occasions. The checked dress is an optional extra.

** Stockings should be at least 50 Denier or more, i.e. not opaque.

The Girls’ Natasha and Boys’ Akubra hats are not required in Years 7 and 8 and are an optional extra for Year 9 and 10 students.

Senior Secondary School (11-12)

  • Maroon tie with school logo

Physical Education/Sports Uniform for all students

  • SCAS sports polo shirt with school emblem 
  • For Primary students, there is the choice of either the SCAS sports polo or their coloured House shirt
  • SCAS navy shorts with school emblem
  • SCAS sports jacket with school emblem
  • SCAS navy track pants to match the jacket
  • SCAS white sports socks (extended team socks are required if competing in rugby, soccer, futsal and hockey teams)
  • Sports shoes must provide support and grip for all sporting activities, which means they must be an athletic runner or cross-trainer shoes with laces to be tied up at all times. ‘Volley’ style, skate shoes and shoes without laces are not permitted. 
  • SCAS navy sports cap with school emblem (Years 3-12)
  • SCAS commando/floppy navy hat with school emblem – (Years K-2)

School Shoes

The following guidelines should be kept in mind when purchasing school shoes:

  • For students in Years 3 to 12 plain black leather polishable lace-up school shoes, which fully cover the entire foot and designed for school wear, must be worn with the summer and winter uniforms. Shoes must be lace-up. Buckle-up and velcro shoes are only permitted in Kindergarten to Year 2 .  'Mary Jane' styles are not permitted for older students as they do not cover the entire foot.
  • Shoes must not resemble skate, casual or sneaker style, regardless of the construction material, and should not be chunky or decorated with coloured stitching, brass eyelets or any patterned etching and must not be suede or patent leather. 
  • Soles must not be crepe or heavily rippled. Black jogger-style or Converse-style shoes are not permitted.
  • Shoes are to be clean and regularly polished.

Purchasing the SCAS Uniform

Pricelist

All St Columba Anglican School uniform items are sold through our on-site Uniform Shop, located in the Iona Sports Stadium.

Uniform Shop Opening Hours (term time)

  • Mondays 11.00am to 4.00pm
  • Tuesdays 8.00am to 12.00pm
  • Thursdays 1.30pm to 4.30pm
  • Fridays 8.30am to 1.30pm

Online Store

The Uniform Shop also has a Click & Collect service, a fast and convenient way to shop for your SCAS uniform online. Items can be collected from the Uniform Shop the next time that the shop opens after your order is placed. Alternatively, they can be posted to you. To have your order taken to the Front Reception for your child to collect from there, please email the Uniform Shop with your order number, child's name and class. The School also hosts a Facebook group The SCAS Exchange where parents and students can buy and sell uniforms, textbooks, musical instruments and other school items.
